Meet Our President, Tyler L. Barnes, Jr.

Tyler L. Barnes, Jr. brings to MedCorp over 36 years experience in health care operations and finance. Prior positions include President for Southern Family Care Centers of Gadsden Alabama (a long-term care and assisted living center operator) and night administrator for Gadsden Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Barnes also served in other senior administrative positions in other healthcare organizations.  He has consulted with health care providers in the areas of practice management, strategic operations and turnaround management. Tyler L. Barnes, Jr. holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Alabama.

Meet Our Vice President, Kathy E. Sheffield (known as Eddye)

Eddye Sheffield began her medical career over 25 years ago as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant.  She grew up in Gadsden Alabama but a large portion of her PTA career was in Florida.  Eddye came to work for MedCorp soon after the company started in February of 1998.  She is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and the director of our billing department.  Eddye has an excellent working knowledge of our practice management software and is our head trainer.  Eddye has assisted in the development and startup of many physician practices and strives to stay current and up to date on all of the current coding and medical billing regulations.  In addition to her PT licensure, Ms. Sheffield holds a BS in Allied Health Administration from UAB, her coding certification is through the American Academy of Professional Coders.
